Initial thoughts: THAT WAS FUCKING AWESOME! What a ride! It's a triple locked room mystery full of pandemic survival horror, fast-paced action, atmospheric dread, emotional grit, and intellectual twists. And the multiple layered reveals, oh my gosh, this writer knows how it's done!

Overview: What the frickity frick was this! There I was, expecting a run-of-the-mill thriller about some people trapped in a snowstorm...and when I started reading I was so shocked and intrigued and blindsided! First of all...the fact it's based around a killer virus and has creepy things called The Whistlers had me hooked. Is it a thriller? Is it a horror? Who knows! All I know is that this book is probably going to land up in my top 10 of this year for the sheer shock factor. Oh and it's also brutal and gruesome.
Good points: I mean...pretty much everything. It had 3 different POV, which is great in itself. I assumed that near the end the stories would all merge into one...Well...they did. But didn't. I can't say anything else without giving away the end. All I can say is...I did not see it coming. The writing is very graphic and detailed and certainly sets the scene.
Not so good points: No minor things other than possibly too much dialouge in places with not enough context and I did find it lagged every so slightly in the middle.
Overall, the most surprising book I think I've ever read. I shall now be checking out other books by this author because...wow.

I thought I’d try another thriller on audiobook when a fellow bookstagrammer mentioned The Drift and it was exactly what I have been looking for! Three separate storylines of increasingly creepy and WTF is going on all coming together in an action packed way. This plot felt fresh, I felt immersed in the setting, figuring out the connections was so engaging. The ending seemed a tad abrupt, but what a wild ride! I’d compare it to a less literary version of The Passage by Justin Cronin - an all time favorite book. I will definitely pick up more of Tudor’s work!

The prose and character development in this triple-locked-room thriller are just so-so . . . but the plot is so nicely constructed, I ripped through it in 2 days!
It's very fun to see how each of the difficult situations is linked to the others. If you love puzzles, you will have a blast reading this book.
