Got bored

This book would have been just as good, probably better, without all the sex. Like, we get it. They're into eachother. We get it.

Cute, fun read. Not too much of a plot. Enjoyed it.

I’ll start this by saying that i’m never trusting Tiktok with book recommendations again.
I'm going to start by telling you what I thought was bad about the book.
  1. The book cover doesn’t insinuate in any way that this is going to be a smut heavy book. I thought this was going to be a cute romance but the book ended up being 50% smut which brings me to my next point.
  2. The book feels like fanfiction which was written by a sexually frustrated 18 year old that needed an outlet. The relationship between Stas and
Nate feels more like lust rather than love most of the time.
  3. I feel like many of the BIG plot points that had a chance to make the book really interesting were rushed over!! For example when
Nate saved Stas from dying, it just felt like an excuse to give Nate his “romantic hero” moment instead of something that actually affected both of them for longer than a week:/
  4. I still don’t grasp how
Nate fell in love with Stas, the book makes it clear that he was a player and had sex with so many girls before getting with Stas but from the first time he saw her he basically vowed to be her boyfriend and never wanted to touch another girl again even though Stas made it clear from the start that she wasn’t interested in a relationship (but they still ended up together?)
, it doesn’t really make sense to me.
  5. I feel like this book could’ve been 100 pages long and the story would’ve been just the same as it is with 432 pages (the inner monologue always dragged on for way too long, I’m looking at you Stas).
  6. It doesn’t feel like they’re actually in college, they pretty much never do homework and there are no tests/exams mentioned which made everything feel unrealistic.
  7. I knew she was going to end up pregnant so early on, they kept pressuring her to “not get pregnant” and “use protection” and then halfway through the book she’s like “it’s fine, don’t use a condom, I’m on birth control.” Then all of the sudden at the end of the book, guess what happens😱
  8. Don’t know how I feel about the
    time skip.
  9. Atleast now I know that I prefer classics, romance, nonfiction and fantasy way more than smut😅 and theres no chance I would have finished this book if I hadn’t listened to the audiobook.

Okay now for some good points.
  1. I liked Nate, Ryan and Henry, Aaron was the only one keeping things interesting (even though he was annoying asf) and Jaiden was funny.
  2. I like how the
    eating disorder
problem was tackled in this book.
  3. It was an interesting learning curve listening to my first romance/smut book.
  4. When there actually were some big plot points, I enjoyed them and they did excite me. The excitement just always managed to die off after 5 minutes:/
So yea, this review feels really mean and I usually don’t make reviews like this but I did waste 13 hours of my life listening to the audiobook so it only feels fair.
