So I’m genuinely confused as to whether the twist was supposed to be a twist or not. Like it was super super obvious. So were pretty much all the mini/sub twists too. I wasn’t surprised by anything that happened in the book. And it did set it up like it was supposed to be a reveal but I just don’t think anybody would read this book and be surprised by it so I’m honestly unsure.

Provided that wasn’t supposed to be a surprise I think it was fairly good. Pacing was nice, I liked the switch between POVS and all. I listened as an audiobook but have read there’s lots of spelling/grammar issues so would reccomend audiobook over hard copy.

I was concerned though by the depiction of the underaged student/teacher relationship. Two POV’s and the parents of the student victim blamed the student and I found it really problematic that at no point did we have a single character point out that it was statutory rape and the student was a victim. I do understand why both POV’s didn’t express that based on their views but I think it was necessary for at least one character to say that at some point to make it clear. Instead it comes across almost like the author/book is endorsing that viewpoint which is really gross and made me very uncomfortable.
