It was just kind of blah for me, I kept reading to finish it, it's not long so about 2 hours and I never really got into it.
I really enjoyed the ARC of this book! I loved that it was a fast read (which i was very thankful for given the amount of books i have in TBR pile!), but I also got really attached to the characters. Great story about a girl who is submerged in a frozen lake for 11 minutes and for all intents and purposes should be dead. Her neighbor/best friend/love interest Decker pulled her out and she wakes in the hospital with absolutely nothing wrong with her. She begins sensing with death is near in friends and in strangers and begins to questions if she's really living at all.

"If you had one day left to live, what would you do?"
Everything changed for Delaney in a matter of seconds. One moment she was having fun with her friends on the frozen lake, the next moment she finds herself trapped underneath it for eleven minutes. She should have died, but she didn't. She miraculously survives and finds herself suddenly pulled towards those that are dying. She meets Troy, someone who seems to have similar sensations after his own traumatic accident, and begins to spend more and more time with him - foregoing her family and best friend, Decker. Delaney's erratic behaviour takes a toll on her loved ones as they drift further apart. Despite her cheating death, they're not living the life they once had. Delaney attempts to regain what once was, while adjusting to her new "gift"/curse.
When I read the premise for Fracture, I thought the plot sounded really interesting - but honestly didn't think too much more about it. Within the first few pages I immediately thought it sounded like If I Stay, which I just recently finished. Little did I know the true emotional depth this story would reach. Miranda is a fantastic storyteller. The book flows naturally and is an easy read. I loved the "grim reaper" aspect to the story, keeping the reader wondering if Delaney and Troy are drawn to the dying or actually causing it. I was completely captivated by the characters, rooting for everyone to pull through. There were some moments that made me want to shake her silly. It makes for good plot points, but why are so many heroines of many stories so oblivious to what's right in front of them!
A heartbreaking story about a girl who survives, while everyone else around her is drowning. Fantastic read.

I fell in love with this book so much! It is paranormal and has supernatural undertones that I loved! It was different and kept me on my toes. There wasn’t anything I hated about this book.
Delaney Maxwell should technically be dead considering she was under the ice for 11 minutes. But somehow she miraculously survived and her best friend Decker pulled her out. But everything is different. At the hospital someone tried to kill her and she has no idea why. Then she realises that she is drawn to the dead and can’t stop once she starts going. Then she meets Troy who seems to share her ability. But he’s dark and dangerous and he scares her. She knows she should stay away but when she has no one to turn to that is easier said than done.
As soon as I read about this book I knew I had to have it. It sounded interesting and I am glad that it was a stand-alone novel because turning it into a series could have ruined it. Megan Miranda created characters that I loved, hated, laughed with and who I found just creepy. You go through a lot of emotions when reading this book and I connected with it.
Delaney wasn’t what I expected at all which was good. I loved reading from her point of perspective and the things she went through sometimes touched my heart. There was one bit where I actually cried because it pulled on my heart strings. Decker, her best friend, was great. Although he went back and forth a bit and sometimes I wanted to slap him I loved him! I liked Troy but I had negative feelings for him and he was a bit of a creep. His looks were what I expected but not his personality or story.
The ending of this novel was totally unexpected but that made it great. This book is unpredictable and I loved every second of it. Readers who love YA, a bit of paranormal and a whole lot of mystery should get their hands on this soon!

Out of all the 2012 releases that I've been sent so far to review, Fracture by Megan Miranda is my favourite. It's the book that I'm most excited for other people to read because I love it so. There's just something about it which appeals to me and I was immediately drawn into the story and the characters and the emotion of the book. I love when a book surprises me as much as Fracture did!
Megan Miranda is a debut author and this book is published in early January, so please do look out for it. It's the story of 17 year old Delaney and what happens to her about a terrible accident. It's about the many things that can happen in 11 minutes as Delaney falls through the ice of a local pond. It's about what happens to Delaney afterwards as she defies all the doctors and medical knowledge that says she should be dead. But Delaney isn't dead, and what's more, she's now able to sense when someone is about to die. What seems coincidence at first seems more sinister once Delaney realises there is another person out there like her ywhen she meets Troy Varga. But all is not as it seems with Troy, as Delaney soon finds out.
Having an interest in psychology, just like the author, I have a huge interest in how much is unknown about the brain and how much that it is capable of that we're not aware of yet. I love the idea of Delaney defying all the odds to survive and so even from the premise I was sold to this book. But what's better is that the characters are sympathetically written, all flawed and imperfect but still relateable, especially the main character Delaney. And also her best friend, Decker, who goes to great lengths in order to rescue Delaney from the freezing water. I really welled up at the relationship between Decker and Delaney. It's hugely emotional and moving. Decker and Delaney are by far my favourite relationship of recent!
I love how this story combines a bit of romance, and the mystery that surrounds Delaney and Troy's new ability with a big dash of deciding what's important in life. It's about friendship and love and about how a few short minutes can change everything!

My love for Megan Miranda was recently reignited, so I decided to pull her backlog off my TBR shelf. I believe this is her first book? And it shows. It’s cheesy and frustrating and unrealistic. I mean, it’s listed as “paranormal” right off the bat and that bothered me far less that the miscommunications or entire lack of communication by every character in Fracture. Decker clearly loves Delaney, just tell her. Delaney’s parents made no effort to understand her, just medicate her while still giving het tons of undeserved freedom. Troy was creepy then interesting then a total mess. And all her “friends” were awful. There were definitely lots of loose ends, too, but I guess this is a series?
I like Miranda’s writing style, so I couldn’t rank it super low, but it’s definitely not her best.
TW: suicide and death (Obvs)

Very Intriguing And Engaging Story. My Heart Was Pounding Just Like Delaney's At Some Points In This Book. The Ending Was Very Surprising. I Can't Wait To Read More From This Author.
Meh, it was fine. But I kept getting this feeling like I'd read this before, or a story similar to this. Great if you're bored.
