This was my first encounter with Mari Carr, but after reading this story, I must say it will not be my last.
I liked this story primary because it is about happily married couple. They have been together for 25 years, there is no cheating or any other bad plot element in a story. It is a celebration of their love. Quite refreshing.
There are some attempts of erotic sex scenes but they were not very good and secondary to the whole HEA-feel, at least to me.
I can only hope that after 20 more years my husband and I will feel like Faith & Troy. :)

Faith Wainwright loves her husband, Troy, and their two kids, but after her youngest child leaves for college, Faith can’t help but feel a bit depressed. With Troy working hard at his job, Faith has been a bit lonely of late, not to mention she’s got that niggling feeling that she and her husband are more like best friends than the passionate lovers they were twenty-five years ago. But with their anniversary just around the corner, Troy has a surprise in store for Faith. He takes her on a journey through their home town where they have the chance to reenact some of their best memories: their first kiss, the first time they made love, and more. This chance at a “do over” may just be the very best thing that ever could happen for Faith and Troy.
Mari Carr has blown me away with the emotional, sensual journey she takes readers on in Do Over. I fell head over heels in love with Do Over almost from the start. Faith and Troy are two people who have no doubt in the strength of their love, but time has made them fall into a bit of a routine. Troy shakes that up with his gift to Faith and I was glued to my computer – not even willing to take the time to put Do Over on my e-reader – as I followed Faith and Troy through those moments where they revisited falling in love. Some were quietly lovely, others were fun, and still more turned blisteringly sensual. I felt like I truly got to know the best parts of Faith and Troy and only wish that they were real, for they are a couple I could see living on my street and I would love to know them.
Ms. Carr accomplishes the impossible: she makes Do Over incredibly sweet, but without ever turning it saccharine. I admit, my favorite parts of the story were the letters Troy wrote to Faith. Quite honestly, they made me cry. Yes, each and every one. Troy’s letters alone would be enough to make me Joyfully Recommend Do Over, but Ms. Carr delivers the whole package with Faith and Troy’s story. Ms. Carr’s exceptional storytelling ability shines in Do Over and I don’t think it’s possible to sing Do Over’s praises highly enough.
