Maybe it just wasn't the right time for me, but I wasn't as into this Yokomizo mystery as the previous ones. I also felt like the reader wasn't given important information until the end making it an unfair puzzle.

And once again the motive is misogyny....
I hope the author intended to draw attention to the harm of patriarchy but I fear they are just legit motives for him. Maybe I will try the next one but if this is the topic for a third time I'm done.
Even without this recurring theme the book is very predictable and I kind of don't care for the elaborate mechanism of the murders (which is my own fault because this is a key characteristic of this style of book). The foreshadowing is annoying but I like that the author dropped this weird retelling style from the first one.


Side note: This might be normal in Japan but it annoyed me so much that the names of the three girls were always said when referring to them and the were mentioned a lot, how about "the three girls" "sisters" "victims"....any synonym would have done!
