I have to read all of David Eddings books every three years or so, and I always start with the Belgariad/Mallorean Series. I was excited to see these are now available in audio!

This series (all 10 books) were totally worth the read. Good stuff and still good decades after they were published.

De ontknoping kwam een beetje raar vond ik, doordat hij niet echt op het einde was maar eerder midden in het boek. Het einde lijkt eerder een afscheid van de personages. Heel raar. Maar wel mooi verwerkt. Eddings heeft mij zeker weten boeien met deze 2 series, ik ben blij dat ik nog van hem kan lezen. En dat ik deze nog zal herlezen lijkt me zeker!

I survived the series so that was nice. I think that for the genre it was fairly predictable how things were going to end. The breadcrumb hints about the ending were not very small and almost loaf-like in size but it was still nice to see things come together anyways. I enjoyed this re-read for the nostalgia and the re-visiting of familiar characters.

Je le dis souvent mais je n'aime pas les fins de sagas. Je n'aime pas dire au revoir aux personnages que j'ai tant aimé. Et c'est le cas de cette série. L'histoire en elle-même est classique dans sa fin et on imagine bien ce qui pourrais suivre. Mais les personnages sont tellement bien écrits qu'ils nous donnent envie de rester avec eux encore un peu. Ce dernier tome est très bon. On nous offre des combats épiques, de l'humour, et de l'aventure. Une vraie saga, et un univers que l'on quitte à regrets.
