In all, this was not a very memorable read. I read almost all of it and then paused for about a week and when I came back to read the rest I found I could not remember what had happened previously. I remember I really liked Mark Antony mainly because of the scene he completely turned the crowd's mob mentality around. That is quite an admirable trait. I do remember while I was reading it I was going to give it a 4 star but now I just can't remember why and that ruins it for me.
So this is the second play we have read in my Shakespeare class so far. It's funny because I read this in high school and thought that Brutus was this good guy who was just looking out for the good of Rome but was thwarted by Antony. Now, however, I see just how complicated Brutus is, and how completely deluded and egocentric he is. I think probably my favorite scene comes when the mob mistakes Cinna the poet for Cina the conspirator. The guy basically tells the mob 'hey, you've got the wrong guy, I'm a poet'. And the mob responds with 'kill him! He's a poet!'it was comical and horrifying at the same time. I'm excited to go through the whole play in class.
i actually really enjoyed reading this in english. it was really interesting analyzing all the speeches and the themes but i also really enjoyed the plot itself. very fun i wanna find a chapter book version of this to read

Mansplain, manipulate, malewife ahh book. I’m also pretty convinced everyone in this book was gay.
