This was a fun traditional romantasy! Some of the writing style didn’t make sense and maybe needed some editing, like information was revealed as if the reader already knew it, or scenes would bounce around a little bit. A good time and I’ll keep going with the series!

I probably would've loved this as a teen but, now, I found it entirely too melodramatic.

Stacia Stark highly impressed me with this book, causing me to binge read the whole series in a couple days. The enemies-to-lovers, the tension, my FAVORITE FOUND FAMILY, the depth of the characters...I am so in love with so many characters in this book (which honestly doesn't happen that often). Lorian had me kicking my feet and blushing so many times UGH. And I loved the ending scene because I could just imagine it as the most epic scene in a movie, and I love my plot twists. I probably should have seen that one coming but I didn't really. HIGHLY, HIGHLY recommend!

To start out, I did like that the plot was different from a lot of other similar romantasy books so I really appreciated that but I just found the writing to be very sloppy. The reveals were poorly timed and awfully done like there was no finesse and it felt very stupid reading each reveal. The romance was spontaneous and just become random and out of nowhere like there were points close to the end where there was no transition from arguing to the romance so it felt very crude like the author got bored with adding actual detail and depth to the scene. The ending also needed WAY more explanation and detail and it was a huge deal breaker for it because it was way too fast and it felt like the writer wanted to be done. I just had no enjoyment. And, when Demos got injured like WHAT HAPPENED THERE?? There was no detail there was just this weird like “I was pushed then boom” but there was nothing to hurt them like did a bird swoop down and accidentally get him??? It was just bad and I finished the book confused and feeling like the writer had transformed into a child. Huge disappointment from the beginning of the book, just went so downhill.

I don’t care enough to continue and I’ve been trying for 2 weeks. The romance just seems so random too.
