This story left me with more questions than answers. Hopefully book 2 will give me the answers.

I won this book in a giveaway.

The Nightmares of Caitlin Lockyer was a mystery from the beginning. It was clear connections were there between the two main characters, however the connections where blurred until the very end. Some connections are still unclear at the end.

The voice is wonderful, a female author writing from a male perspective can be hard, especially when finding the balance between sappy, gentleman to sex fueled douche-bag.

The plot was very well developed and well thought through and I'm excited to read the sequel.

Nightmares of Caitlin Lockyer

Nathan Miller, a former playboy, wants to avenge his sisters brutal rape and murder on a beach, six months earlier. He returns to the beach where his sister was found, only to find another woman has been beaten and left there, but she is still alive, barely. He promises this girl he will not let her die and will help her, hoping it will lead to the who is responsible for his sisters death. All she can remember is a red mercedes...
However, many people, including the police find his return questionable when he has the gun used to kill his sister and other unanswered questions. Lots of clues all lead back to Nathan. He doesnt know he is the prime suspect. But is he a murderer??
This is a dark and captivating tale of suspense. Going inside the mind of Nathan and sharing his thoughts really added much mystery to the murder of his sister.
Great read.

Ok so first a warning, this story is about the nightmares of Caitlin Lockyer from when she was kidnapped, raped, assaulted and abused some people may find this distressing.
I found some of the dialogue a little uncomfortable however I really liked Nathan and how he would do anything to keep Caitlin safe and he promised her he would be there. Yes his job was really to find out as much as possible about Caitlin's ordeal to get these people but he genuinely cared for her.
Almost every other chapter is Caitlin's nightmares, they do not make sense as it is bits and pieces as she remembers them but it is all valuable to the story.
I did enjoy the novel, there was nothing boring in it and it flowed well. I have bought book 2 so I can continue with the trilogy.

Dark, gritty, and captivating.

The Nightmares of Caitlin Lockyer is not for the faint of heart.

After saving Caitlin’s life from a group of sadistic torturers, a cop named Nathan sits at her bedside, desperate to keep his promise—that he would not leave her side. Caitlin is broken when she finally wakes, but the one thing that keeps her going is the fact that Nathan keeps his promise.

Caitlin’s memories, broken up throughout the book, are both chilling and realistic. Her nightmares always lead to her screaming for Nathan to save her. Every time he is by her side and as the days go on, she remembers more and more about what happened to her.

Even though this is the first book of a series, I felt as if this book could be read alone. However, there were a few questions I had left over. Hopefully, these are answered later on. I’ll definitely read on to find out.

Intriguing but I was confused for a good chunk of the book. Found myself rereading parts because it didn’t make sense. Overall I liked it, but I think some clarity would have made ir better.

Not a fan

I did not enjoy how this book was written. It took me forever to read because it was just unenjoyable. I want to keep reading the series because I'm so confused on what is happening or what happened, but i can't. The story is interesting but i just can't stand the writing style.

If I could give it 0 stars, I would. What a crappy book. It doesn't make any sense at all. I wish I could unread it.

Hoped it would get better

It started badly and I kept reading hoping it would get better. It didn't. The plot and characters have so many holes and inconsistencies that there were times I just shook my head. I don't know how I made it to the end.
