2,5 stars. Didn't realize this was the second book in the series, maybe that's why I was so confused. Didn't like audiobook

Yeah, so I kept picturing Rumple from OUaT while reading this entire book. Made it very interesting.

Anyway, people, you all should know by now to never make wishes that involve your soul! This never turns out good.

When Thad Glavan made his wish, it really was to save his sister. He just made the mistake of not looking at the fine print. And because of this, his entire kingdom falls under the spell of a powerful fae named Alistair Teague. Teague deals in wishes and he's extremely ruthless and only wants power. Power that comes with the throne. There's only one thing he didn't count on, Thad's younger sister, Ari. Ari knows that her brother made a wish with his soul and now she will stop at nothing to take down Teague. With the help of the new weapons master, Sebastian, she comes up with a plan but unfortunately Teague has been around for a while and doesn't fall to schemes easily.

This book was brutal. Redwine held nothing back about the dangers of dealing with the Wish Granter. And many horrible things happened in retaliation for trying to kill Teague. But I adored Ari and her strength. She loves her brother but she also loves her country and over the course of this book grows into this smart and cunning and strong young woman who is ready to take on the world. I loved that she was the one with the plans and Sebastian was always right there helping. And speaking of Sebastian, can you say sweet? Here is a boy who has never known a nice touch - only cruel touches were ever given to him. And when he meets the Princess he's taken aback by her demeanor and against his intentions, falls hard for her. But of course, nothing is easy.

This series is just so good and I cannot wait to see what comes next. Redwine really stepped it up with the writing and the mixing of fairytale with new life blends well and creates a new fantasy world with so much character. There was even mention of some familiar faces from the first book and I really hope that continues since they all take place within the same world. I love when characters blend throughout a series like this.

I really enjoyed this book. It's a Ravenspire novel which means it's in the same world as The Shadow Queen which i enjoyed a lot too. Its a Rumplestilkin retelling and although he is a big part of the book, it doesn't center on his POV. You get a glimpse of it every few chapters or so. But a really good retelling!

An absolutely spell-binding novel that I couldn't put down. As if THE SHADOW QUEEN wasn't genius enough, THE WISH GRANTER exceeded all of my expectations. Ari and Sebastian were enchanting, Teague was deliciously evil, and once again, the plot left me in awe.
