Absolutely amazing! I hate that they lost Father Shaan and it will be difficult for them to plan escapes and strategic moves. I hate Tarek and how he haunts her even in death. I love Ashwin so much and I love how he actually cares about Kali but I hate that she is under the influence of the demon. I hate Deven’s jealously and wish he would get over it. I love that she let’s go of Tarek and is able to be at peace finally. I hate that Kur is set free but I love that Deven escapes him.

Not the strongest link in the series, but still an essential piece.

I received this book from the publisher via Net Galley in exchange for an honest review.
I took a while to get back into this detailed and gorgeous world, but once I was there I loved how it all played out. The war between the three sides was well done - I especially liked what happens between the rebels and Ashwin’s side.
I also loved getting to see more of the competitors from the second tournament and some of their part of the world.
There’s a couple of things that made me knock this down from four stars to 3.5 - firstly the POV changes worked well previously, but I struggled to keep up a little here. And second, the action capitulates a little quickly for my taste. There’s lots of build up and it suddenly seemed to be over.
Having said that, I loved how it ended and what it implies for the fourth and final book.

I enjoyed the first two books of this series. At about the halfway point in this book, I really tired of the back and forth chapter changes between Kalinda and Deven. I also found that their romance is a bit tiresome. I found it hard to continue reading this book but I kept going because I was committed. With the ending of the book, I had hoped that there wouldn't be another, that there would be some closure but I see that a fourth book is pending.

This book seemed to drag more than the others. I loved Kali’s chapters, but Deven’s dragged and I found myself struggling to get through them. The ending was good though and a perfect setup for the last book.
