Wow. That was the wild and fun ride I needed!
I am so overwhelmed with how much I love Al, Nadia, and Buck...and Dhanya. This story is so much fun, the characters have DEPTH and their laughter is intoxicating.

I endured it till 44% of the audiobook. I felt like listening to Oberon raving about poobles and sniffing arses all the way.
The plot is interesting if you can get past the shit and pee comparaisons and comments all the way. This character has almost no class in his thinking even if he is bright.
I really liked the Iron Druid's books and the Oberon's stories. They hab some non classy comments bordering on scatological but not constantly like this one.
I felt like it was written by a bright but very young minded 12 years old boy.

Hmm. I don’t know if this is the genre for me. But, it was a quick and fun read. I can see how people who are more into fantasy would find this more delightful than I did. It just felt a tad too gimmicky for me. But a good quick palette cleanser.

The book has good reviews so I looked forward to it. The audio book was good. The characters were great. Had some mystery & one that carries on to the other books. I'd definitely listen to the next one.
With his newest book, Ink & Sigil, NYT bestselling author Kevin Hearne brings his unique flavor of storytelling and wicked sense of humor to a familiar world - his version of Earth from the Iron Druid Chronicles. Readers don’t have to be acquainted with his previous books to delve into this one; it’s a fresh story from a different point-of-view.
Al MacBharrais is an elderly Scotsman serving as a sigil agent for the First of the Fae, while training an apprentice to carry on after he retires. The death of that apprentice uncovers a sinister plot, and Al gathers a cast of unusual and talented people to hunt down the perpetrators.
Hearne throws Fae creatures into Modern Day Scotland and sprinkles in some foul language, impish humor, and current events. It’s an absolutely delightful read. I devoured this book in less than a day and I hope to see more books featuring Al in the future.
