This is the perfect romance book for lovers of true crime. It seems like a weird mix, but it went together so well in this book. Ridley is a true crime podcaster who ends up in a small town to solve a cold case. When she comes up against the grumpy sheriff, they become an unlikely team to try to take down a monster.

🎧

Catherine strung together a very intriguing mystery with ATMP. I was hooked from the prologue, as I typically am with her writing. The mystery and suspense was phenomenal, and I was between multiple suspects up until the final few chapters before the big reveal. She kept me on my toes entirely for this one! Overall, I enjoyed the mystery and suspense aspect of the story, more so than the romance.
I found it difficult to connect and become invested in Ridley and Colts relationship, they both fell flat for me. I was not invested in their love story and rather than a slow burn, it felt rushed in the second half of the story.
I adored Andi Arndt’s narration of Ridley- she did a wonderful job portraying the emotions Ridley felt throughout the story.
Sebastian York’s narration of Colt was well done, but I was not as invested in Colt’s character as a whole.
Thank you so much to Catherine Cowles, Casablanca Books, and Netgalley for allowing me the opportunity to receive an ARC! I purchased and listened to the ATMP after release day on Audible.

Life doesn’t guarantee grand movie endings. But every once in a while we get one.

Catherine Cowles is truly the queen of romantic suspense. I started reading her books last year, and I have yet to be disappointed. Her novels are so engaging that you can easily finish them in one or two sittings. They are quick to read and effective at pulling you out of a reading slump.

I really felt the betrayal when the killer was finally revealed. Catherine Cowles has a unique ability to draw you in and make you care about the characters, allowing you to truly experience their emotions.

I'm thrilled that I have many more of her books to read because it means I have plenty to look forward to!
