I really like Chris Stuckman as a reviewer. He's not afraid to show his enthousiasm and passion for film, and is able to convey his thoughts in an honest way while also always showing respect for the filmmakers. In this book he obviously doesn't have to hold back since it's a list of the best films from 2000-2015, according to him.
It's an interesting list. Mine would probably look a lot different, but it that is always the case with these things. There are some movies that I didn't know yet and I am eager to watch and rewatch as much as I can. I also really like the simplistic illustrations by Elina Diaz.
That being said, I was a little dissapointed that the descriptions are so short. I had hoped Stuckman would use this opportunity to step away from his usual short and sharp reviewing style to dive a little deeper into these movies that he deems so special. This is of course difficult: he clearly wants to make people entousiastic to watch them and doesn't want to spoiler too much. But I still hoped the book would have given me a bit more.
It is a nice list though, and the bucket list at the end is a useful extra.

As a fan of my favorite YouTube star Chris Stuckmann, the book lists his favorite 50 movies for the past years (2000-2015) in chronological order. I was expecting a deep, full reviews on each of these movies, like Roger Ebert's The Great Movies series. But the reviews only cover some aspects of filmmaking of these movies (I still do not understand how "Old Boy (2003)" is much better than the American remake version that he recommends not to watch it.), and these reviews are mostly short.

However, I will recommend this book for newcomers who are starting to read film criticism for the first time or are getting new with the Youtube Star. This book is short, which I completed it in two days, but it is worth the start.
