This book is magnificent. I wanted to re-read each paragraph immediately after having read it. At its best, Nelson's work makes you re-think the structures of your relationships, the how and the why of love and sex and friendship. At the very least, these are beautiful considerations of Nelson's own life. I can't recommend it highly enough.

Parts of this book I loved. I see why parts of it was used for lecture. I thought I was going to read a memoir of sorts, and it was, but parts were intimidating as a non-lit major and seemed like an essay more than an insight into her life. I enjoyed to much of it but a lot of parts were lost on me because I didn’t recognize the names used or stories referenced, so it took a bit longer to understand where she was going.

I know we’re still here, who knows for how long, ablaze with our care, its ongoing song.
