Knox Holland is trying to make his way back to the Motocross racing circuit but after some team drama he ended up booted off until he could prove he's a team player. When the opportunity comes to work with a team pulling tricks, he jumps at the chance to prove himself. The problem is there's a big difference between racing a bike and performing stunts. When his skills are seriously lacking his friend recommends training with Avery to help.
Avery is a highly decorated Olympic gymnast trying to prove she's still got it after an injury and the last thing she needs is some tattooed biker with a bad attitude who needs her help coming in and talking down to her. But when Knox shows some humility, and her training seems to be working, they reluctantly agree to keep working together. But when working together turns to hooking up, they are both very clear on what this is and what this isn't. Knox doesn't do relationships and Avery's heart's still mending from her cheating ex. But as their situationship gets more involved those clear intentions start to get a little fuzzy.
I loved the banter between these two. Knox was such as ass to Avery at the beginning and the fact that she didn't just let him get away with it made me fall for her first. Knox did a lot of growing in this one and frankly he needed it. After having to step into an adult role so young he never really got the chance to fully grow up. These two did a lot of changing apart and growing together which just made their HEA so much more satisfying. I think this is a great start to the series and I cannot wait for my favorite Holland brother to get his book. Hopefully soon!
Thanks so much to Rebecca Jenshak for providing me with an early copy for review!
