Fascinating study of women who killed for various reasons, and how judges, juries, and society in general view these anomalous actions with confusion and disbelief. It turns out that a murder is not just a murder when committed by a woman, as political pressures end up shaping the final adjudication.

I fell asleep like 4 times while reading a book about MURDER. Need I say more?
(Yes.)
In my opinion, the fourth case was the only one developed and analyzed in an interesting way. The other three felt half baked as Zerán did little more than repeat her thesis again & again & again (& again). Not to mention the strangely sympathetic tone employed throughout the book that really made me quite uncomfortable (& untrusting).
