Not so predictable

I really appreciate when I get all my favorite tropes and still are unable to predict where the story is going to go. Looking forward to the next book.

The first 1/4 was fine and entertaining enough. The last 3/4 were horribly boring, repetitive, and very nearly unreadable.

Red riding hood meets witch vs fae rivalry.

Rose is a witch just trying to keep herself alive in a world that has been torn apart by war between the witches and the fae. Captured by a wolf-shifter bounty hunter, she is dragged back to the fae kingdom. On the journey though, she and the bounty hunter discover they have much in common and decided to form an alliance. A marriage of convenience. Once at court, they have to work together and slowly grow closer. They eventually run away together, only to be greeted by equal and opposite hostility in the land of the witches. Running away again, they end up at the ends of the world where they don’t know how they will survive. But they know whatever happens they will be in it together.

This book was much longer than I expected. I feel like it could have ended after they made it to the void. The endings with the witches and then the dead lands just seemed a little rushed after the drawn out time in the fae kingdom.

Overall though, I would definitely buy this book and can’t wait for the sequel.

If you like fae, magic, enemies to lovers, and slow burn romance, this book is perfect.

This book has the potential to be great, but the plot and other elements of it were just lost on me. I really wanted to like this one, as I saw it advertised originally from one of those clickbait videos on Instagram, but unfortunately, I did not enjoy it.

This book, in my opinion, was so forgettable that around a two weeks later, I can remember next to no details from it.

2/5.

I liked the concept, but the writing style was too stilted for me to finish this.
