I really enjoyed this story and the world that Rena Barron created! I love that Papa was secretly training his daughter to fulfill a role. I love that mistakes were made, reprimanded, but forgiven. I love that this focused on the importance of love and responsibility from family, friends, and community. I look forward to reading what comes next for Maya!
