Gory and grotesque and eerie
I really like Emily’s art style and the darker tones that go well with the stories. They usually have ambiguous endings, which leaves a lot to interpretation but mostly it leaves you feeling uneasy which goes hand in hand with horror.

Art is 10/5 amazing
All the stories were a little creepy, but I didn't quite get some of them? I'm not a fan of open/loose endings.

loved the last story and the conclusion. those are practically perfect, but I felt like some of the other stories were a little repetitive and didn't scare me as much.

The artwork is gorgeous. The stories are great and are eerie but not heavily scary or disturbing. I really wish some of the stories were longer and more developed. I also wish that I read this near Halloween so shall definitely reread then. My favourite story was The Nesting Place.

I was a bit disappointed by this book. I saw a lot of people talking about how creepy it was, but it just didn’t do it for me. The artwork is STUNNING and was definitely the best part for me, but the only two stories I really enjoyed were “A Lady’s Hands Are Cold” and “The Nesting Place”. And even then, they both felt like they needed a little more. That was pretty much how every story left me feeling - they all just felt like they were cut off too short. Sometimes ambiguous ending can be extremely effective, but here they just felt unfinished. Really bummed I didn’t like this more.

Creepy. Not "I will never sleep again" creepy, but "that gave me a slight chill and I might ruminate on the story for a minute before proceeding with my life". Given that this is aimed at the young adult crowd that is probably for the best. Given that I am reading it, I am fine with this. I like sleeping and I don't like nightmares.

The artwork is fantastic. Worth reading just to visualize the stories. The stories themselves are a bit uneven, but there are a couple gems in the collection.
