I enjoyed Cytonic for the most part, but a lot of it felt very underwhelming, especially the parts where Spensa is learning about her Cytonic abilities.
Book three once again sends Spensa to a new area of the galaxy, with yet another new group of characters for her to team up with. I liked most of these new characters, especially the crystal aliens which I thought were really interesting! I am hoping book 4 will have Spensa spend more time with Skyward flight though, I’ve been missing them as they were such a good team in book one

Diving into the unknown to discover who you really are and risking all memories of your life and loved ones are the main themes of a book.
I hear a lot of complaints about Spensa being separated from her home, flight mates and friends. I personally like this separation, we see where she came from, her home and family, but she has grown up, has her own life and things that she has to do, comes home from time to time. To me this plot seems natural.
So Spensa is once again on her own goes off into unknown, a risky move – no one has returned from there. She’s on a mission to find out more about herself, Delvers and contribute to saving home.
I always have a great time reading Skyward series- it’s a very easy, light read with cute slugs, nice characters and some action.

pretty cool adventure but it did feel that this bit was going on for far too long, made me anxious about the stuff happening to the others in war, made me hope that all this was that worth it to miss all the assistance the others would have needed. It's a pretty emotional book. Sometimes it was kind of cringy(?) but I tried to understand and yeah. I generally just think that this is a me problem.
The end really made me want to skip the novella to the next book. I'm itching to know what happened to the others, kind of annoyed it wasn't included here.

I can see how you could read this without the novellas but if you didn’t read them you probably wouldn’t understand some of things mentioned in the epilogue. After 2 books of the characters in the series being apart and off doing their own missions, we finally get them coming back together. As the is YA, I love how Brandon Sanderson put so many life lessons in this and explaining emotions. Can’t wait to wrap up this series and see what kind of conclusion Sanderson gives us.
