This book is an absolute masterpiece, I have never read something so beautiful before in my life, not only is it educational and eye opening, it is also so real and emotional. I’ve learned so much and I can’t even begin to express how emotional it was. I highly recommend.

Beautiful. Took me a little while to identify with the characters as they lived a childhood so far from my own, but the story was riveting. Tradgic. Beautiful.

This book was incredible. It provided a beautiful and harrowing look into Afghan culture, and a hauntingly real depiction of unhealthy relationships, betrayal, guilt, and redemption. The characters were superbly written, with very complex relationships and motivations. The plot seemed odd at first, but then tied together perfectly in the end. The way it ended, coming full circle (in ways I won't describe due to spoilers), was perfect. This is not the type of book I normally pick up, but I'm glad my comp teacher made me read it.

The descriptors of this book "powerful," "haunting," riveting,"unforgettable," etc.) are all accurate. The story does have some weaknesses, and at times the writer's inexperience is obvious, but the story is just powerful. The accuracy of the male psyche and their faulty ways of addressing relationships, emotions, masculinity, sexuality, culture, trauma, etc. paint a deep and relatable picture. I highly recommend.

Very haunting and well written throughout. I started this book back in January and had to put it down due to my lack of free time, and then I had trouble picking it back up because of the very heavy themes throughout. That being said, it was still beautifully constructed - I loved the way Hosseini writes Amir's specific memories, paying so much detail to the visual and emotional qualities of the time - it was cinematic! I also liked how he often wrote in chunks Within his chapters - small paragraphs that delivered a fragment of an interaction or a memory or a dream but had a larger meaning or implication delivered within it that kinda makes you sit back and ... think and process. I'm glad I finally got to finish this book and I'm determined to get back into reading again!!
