"The Witches" by Roald Dahl is a captivating blend of humor and suspense that kept my entire class thoroughly entertained. The book masterfully weaves together elements of comedy and fear, creating a unique and engaging reading experience.
Dahl's witty writing style and imaginative storytelling effortlessly drew us into the world of the Grand High Witch and her diabolical plans. The characters, particularly the brave protagonist and his eccentric grandmother, were endearing and relatable, adding depth to the narrative.

How is it possible that this book scares me more now than it did when I read it as a small child? I'm not sure, but it really, really does. Scary and hilarious, with lots of great themes about being yourself and the importance of family. Plus, it's the originator of the immortal line, "Vitches of Inkland!" A classic.
4 stars. What a riot! I loved this one. This is another Dahl book that I was not familiar with. I’ve never even seen the movie adaptation (gasp!) so I went into this with no idea of what was going to happen and boy was that a lot of fun. I loved the plot, it’s super weird and dark which I loved. Dahl was never afraid of pushing the limit for children’s books which I admire. The main character (who isn’t named and I just now realized it) and his grandmother were great characters and had such an adorable relationship. This is quite the adventure and I loved the ending and just how sad and messed up everything is when you really think about. A very fun read.

Actually begging you to listen to the audiobook if you’re planning on reading this because Miranda Richardson put her entire chest into this. I was thoroughly entertained by her energy.
Now I need to watch the movie adaptation that I’ve avoided my entire life because I was scared. Gonna put on my big girl pants ✌

A fun little read! The BFG got me into reading as a kid so I thought I'd try more of his works as an adult.
I liked it.
