Got me in me in the beginning but then I ended up forgetting about it for a few days and mostly finished since I was already 50% through.

This was an interesting world and it took a super unique approach to blending the ‘modern world’ and the fantasy one.

I’m not desperate to pick up the next book but I am still a bit intrigued about Thorn’s story so I might pick up the next book when I’m in the mood for some far content again.

DNF @ 20%
I really want to read this author’s vampire series, and I see this is a whole world she’s created, beginning with this series. The synopsis for this one sounds like everything I’d like.

The execution is my issue and while I tried to hang on, at 20% I stopped trying. It’s slow starting. I hardly have any idea of what’s actually happening. I haven’t read a third person POV in a book in a while, so there was a moment of adjusting, but even then, usually there’s a sense of character differences.

All in all, it sounds amazing and I wanted it to be good but I just couldn’t get into it.

This book improved as it moved forward but I can’t say I’d recommend it.   It has a great premise but the execution is clunky.

Honestly really loved Clarke and Rush’s story. And what a wonderful start to this romantic fantasy series! Cannot wait to read the next book!

Also a lot of what this story so good was the fact that the paperback versions of this series have pictures in them, and for me personally that really enhances the world and character building. Really made it all come alive.

I finally finished this, it took me almost a month and probably should've DNF but I did enjoy the story and wanted to see where it's going. This had so many good things that worked for me but I didn't gel with the writing.

I'm mad I waited this long to start this series! Absolutely loved it! Paranormal fantasy romance in a dystopian universe. So fun! Can't wait to read the rest!
