Way too triggering. Had to skip through the extremely detailed rape scene and couldn’t bring myself to keep going when the foreshadowing implied the dog would get hit by a car or taken away or something. Not a bad read, just did not mix well with my personal set of triggers.

This was actually my second attempt at reading this, and I’m not sure why I DNF’d it the first time! It was very readable, and I found myself making really good progress in very little time!

To be honest, I didn’t love Elizabeth but I could empathise with her, which made it easy to continue to read. Also, the ending does feel kind of rushed and I’m not entirely convinced all the loose ends and plot points were properly tied up - but hey, I enjoyed it anyway
