After hearing some lukewarm impressions from others I fully expected to not like this one very much.

I am happy to say I was VERY mistaken - this book was incredible. Somehow Terry Pratchett managed to (along with the music puns, but those are just silly extras) encapsulate the entire spirit and feel of the rock n’ roll movement ,as well as common thoughts and sentiments regarding, and fully make an organic Discworld representation that never felt forced.

The beat does, indeed, go on.

A middling Pratchett -- the Susan and Death parts are very good, but you don't really get to know Imp and his bandmates all that well, and there are just a lot of questionable music puns. Like, a lot. This is also one where the no-chapters/breathless quality rather worked against the pacing, I think.

Needs more Death, and more Susan, but if they’re going to be side characters in their own “series”, I guess having music be the main subplot (along with all the fun nods to our music industry) was worth it.
