While I enjoyed this story and there were definitely scenes where I couldn't put it down, Book 2 did not captivate me in the same way as Wolfsong did. That is probably because Ox and Joe, Ox especially, are more compelling characters than Gordo and Mark. But the world-building is fantastic, and I'm invested in Green Creek, and who doesn't love Robbie, so Heartsong, here I come.

I'm officially dnfing this book and this series. While I loved Wolfsong and Ravensong, this series is too painful for me to read and I just can't handle that right now. I might get back to it another time, when I can deal with everything happening in this series.

I still rated this book 4.5 stars because I only have 80 pages left of it, and while I won't finish it, I loved it a lot (and I also know what happens in the last 80 pages I haven't read thanks to my friend so I feel like I can give a fair rating).
