I cannot put into words how much I loved this book! It was phenomenal. This picked up right from where the bone season finished and I loved every second of it!

I enjoyed how the majority of this book shows the damaged relationship between Paige and Jaxon. I do think Jaxon is a bit of an asshole if I’m honest.

This book like the first book is a slower read but the slowness in this fits the story as a whole so well. I wouldn’t enjoy it half as much if I was faster paced. The world building and writing are spectacular.

I just cannot get enough of this series, this series is 10000000% become a favourite of all time and I cannot wait to carry on!

Was this fun? Mostly. Same issues I had with the first one - Paige consistently makes bad decisions and yet people are like yesssss girl get it you are going to save us all! I don't feel like we really resolved what exactly it is that the Syndicate actually DOES. I will say, Samantha Shannon is definitely a talented author because despite the flaws of this book, the actually quality of the writing is very good. (i can see the foundation of how she levels up to Priory of the orange)  I'll probably keep reading the series because for some reason I'm invested.
