I’m loving this book series! I love the magic, the world building and the character development. I missed the giant magic appendix and character list from the first book.
I feel like I saw Binder being the traitor from yards away but I don’t think guessing the twist took anything away at all

This was good. Not as good as the first book but still good.

I agree with some of the reviews that said that this one dragged. In some parts it really did. Like there were twists (which the author is super good at btw) but it didn’t feel like a I was moving much? If that makes sense.

Also, I kept reading about this big twist at the end. And tbh I wasn’t surprised. It actually confirmed my suspicions cause something wasn’t right.

As for the romance, idk. I like it much better this book but the MMC is kind of bland. His whole personality is this rebellion which is fine but I need some fire from him! I get it, that’s not in his nature, but that’s a requirement for me from a love interest I guess. Hopefully we see more of him and Paige in the next book and they help to solidify their relationship in my eyes.

One thing I will say is that the author does a great job with doling out info. Like there’s sooo many places and people and plot points but I don’t feel overwhelmed by it because it’s like she knows where to put reminders in the text so it makes sense, reminds you, and yet doesn’t feel redundant.

I like Paige but tbh I don’t love her yet. But I guess have quite a few more books to fall in love.

Speaking of quite a few more books, it makes me nervous that this is gonna be 7 books. Like wtf do you gotta say with 7 books, each on average of 500 pages? I thought this was a finished series when I signed on which is honestly on me. I should have researched more. But I digress.

I think I will take a break before the 3rd one so I can sit with my thoughts a bit longer.
