The first book in the series was just a lot better. Took me awhile to finish.

Okay. [SPOILERS] This book could have been an email. Joking! But I do think that there was WAY TOO MUCH TIME between when she comes back and knows about the Rephaim and when she disconnects from Jaxon. I felt like a crazy person having to read about her being under curfew or explaining herself after everything that happened in book one. To be honest, she handled it better than I would and I do understand why she does what she does but it takes too many pages. I felt pulled out of the story bc it seemed like every piece of info was to be saved for later rather than telling a compelling story about the now. I also am very frustrated by the ever increasing types of clairvoyance that is mentioned. It feels like when I begin to understand the world building, 5-10 more layers of stuff is added. That being said, I do like the cast of characters and am interested to see where this is all going.
