What I thought would be a typical alcoholic/drug addict musician storyline turned out to be an interesting and entertaining read. I’m pretty sure Rick Roberts’ voice jumping out at me from the pages is what kept me intrigued. It’s like you are standing in his kitchen listening to him retell the story of his life. He made a dark and scary lifestyle of the musician lighter, all while keeping his grip on the reality of what it can do to a person and their loved ones. The main storyline of his injury and disability was also a great piece woven in. I appreciated his brutal honesty of the back and forth between sobriety, therapy and fighting his demons. I recommend this quick, resilient read. :)
