Liked it even more than the first one! I like how we get to know Miranda in depth. What makes her the way she is. It's great to see Rose grow and the best part the story only starting to get more complicated. This was way easier to visualise than the first book so that's a plus.

I'm a huge fan of Compass Rose and was really excited to get into Sea Wolf. I can't say I think the second book is as good as the first but it was still a really enjoyable read and spent a lot fo time fleshing out the world.

I loved the character development over this book. Rose and Miranda's relationship is rocky, as it should be. They spent lot's of this book struggling to understand each other and slowly working out what there relationship can look like with each other. It also shows the crack's in Miranda's strength and makes her a fish out of water just like Rose this time around.

It introduces new elements to the world and plot that put a new light on the information given to us in the first book. I won't spoil any of it here but it was exciting to see how much thought the author has clearly put into this world.

My main issue with this book is it clearly is the middle one in a triology. It spend's most of it's time developing our key characters and explaining the world than it does on the plot. This makes the back end of the book very heavy on world building and the front very heavy on character development. Personally this is no major issue, a lot of middle books do this, but it does make it a slightly less sastifying read than Compass Rose.

«This had always been my crew. Not Man o’ War, and not even North Star, but these ridiculous, messy, hardheaded fools. I loved each and every one of them.»

Girl, honestly, same. If you combine the majority of tropes that make me feel a little bit insane you'll get this book and its characters.

This sequel took such a drastic dramatic turn both plot and relationships wise in comparison with the previous book that I'll be processing for weeks for sure. I was stressed 90% of the time while reading.

A special shout out to Miranda Stillwater, gotta be one of my favourite morally grey characters of all time.

«My brutal, beautiful, broken love.»
