Updated Review (June 2024):

Still fantastic. Dorian really grew on me this time around, and all the little hints and bits of foreshadowing are really just so fun to catch on a reread. Thoroughly enjoyed!

Original Review (March 2023):

Rating: 5/5 stars.

Splendid, perfect, marvelous, a bunch more adjectives. I was already enjoying this series but this is definitely the one that truly hooked me after the midway point.

3.5 stars but I probably could be persuaded to round up to 4.

My issues with this book are the same issues I had with book one. It shouldn't take 300 pages for me to get interested/invested in this story. I don't like Celaena but this book showed me I am interested in her back story and this ending showed me I am actually, though I previously didn't think I was, interested in what happens next. This story filled the questions and holes I had from the first book and the ending was action-packed. I just wish it didn't take most of the book to get there.
