This book could have been amazing! I enjoyed it and I did like the overall story. However, I felt like the things I thought the book would have spent a lot of time on, it didn’t. The grovelling, the family relationships. I also thought this book was going to be overly romantic because these characters deserved it.
I enjoyed it for what we got and I did like the route SM went in terms of Ewan and what happened 20 years ago.

This is the epic conclusion to MacLean’s Bareknuckle Bastards trilogy. After promising Grace he would always be there for her, Ewan committed the ultimate betrayal by trying to kill her for a title. Years later, Grace is now the Queen of Covent Garden. Ewan has believed Grace is dead and has terrorized his brothers for the last two books. Now that he discovers she is not dead, he has to deal with the ramifications of all of his horrible actions and has to try to win the forgiveness of not only Grace, but his brother’s and Covent Garden as well.
I know next to nothing about video games, but every time I finish a new MacLean book, I imagine her leveling up upon completion of each book. This book is masterfully written. Each sentence, each word is intentional and is utilized to ensure you feel the depth of emotion these characters feel. Ewan and Grace’s story tore me up! The stakes in this book are so high. Ewan literally cannot make one misstep, or he is done. MacLean starts this book with an uphill battle to redeem Ewan. He has done horrible things and MacLean ensures he faces consequences for his actions.
Grace is amazing. She owns a club for women that’s purpose is to provide pleasure for women. The club itself is saying so much about how men feel when women take control of their pleasure. With this book, I feel MacLean has completely taken the standard roles of men and women in romance and flipped them on their head. Grace is the first one to dole out Ewan’s punishment, Grace is the one that has to have a talk with her brother’s to understand her feelings for Ewan. This book is pure romance gold. Out of all of MacLean’s series, I think I would choose to live in the sphere of the Bareknuckle Bastards and while I will miss them greatly, I cannot wait to see what world MacLean imagines for us next!

I have been waiting for Ewan and Grace’s story since Book 1, because if anyone can make me love a villain, it’s Sarah MacLean. Day Of The Duchess is one of my FAVORITE redemption stories of all time, and I had high hopes that Daring and the Duke would be another winner. Unfortunately, this fell short for me.
Unlike DOTTD, Ewan and Grace, who, at times, didn’t feel/sound like the same characters we met in the previous books, had too much too overcome.
This is a good ending to the series, just not the story I was hoping for.
Thank you to the publisher for providing me an eARC in exchange for an honest review.

There is nothing more beautiful than reading the final book of a beloved series. Sure you are filled with the sadness of the ending, but the ending is worth it.
"Daring and the Duke" tells the story of Grace and Ewan, a pair that I had so many expectations of especially after reading the previous books and getting glimpses of them. A story of redemption, forgiveness and love worth dying for, both Grace and Ewan had to fight their own pasts in order to claim their future.
I enjoyed reading about Grace, a liberated woman in a world that became even stricter after Queen Victoria's coronation and where women had even less rights than men. The mystery of her club, her gang of amazing women, and the sensuality of Sarah's writing encaptured me as I read this book in a day.
This is one of the best books (as of now) by Sarah MacLean and I am anxiously waiting for the next one! Totally recommended!
