Re-read April 2025 - 2.75
This was a disappointing re-read. It was repetitive and frustrating, and the ‘great secret’ is so obvious that it is surprising all our clever characters didn’t work it out. Perhaps I wasn’t in the mood for a happy ending…

First read: February 2023 - 3.75
Some plot points were a little contrived, but it was generally convincing, and certainly diverting. I could have done with more bromance and less romance, but I did enjoy the ride.

I was really interested to see how she was going to redeem the male love interest in this one. The first two books really built up a distaste for his character, but I ended up liking him in the end. I really enjoyed this series overall, and I think I gave the first two books 4 stars. I would have done the same for this one, but I just didn't connect with the characters as much. The misunderstanding went on for too long and made it feel like she forgave him too quickly. I'd still recommend this one--it's a lovely series and this is a crucial part of it.

It’s been a long time since I’ve waited for this story.
I’m not really sure what I was waiting for to happen or how high my expectations were but overall I enjoyed it quite a lot.
Grace is the same perfect heroine that we got to know from the other books in the series and Ewan is ...Ewan. I was expecting for him to grovel more, for their love story to be more angsty actually.
The chemistry and sexy moments are off the chart for sure and Sarah has a way with her words to make you hot and bothered while reading them.
Overall , the book was great and once again, I remembered why the author is one of my favourite of all times.
emotional slow-paced

One thing about me: if he's unhinged, haunted by intense trauma, & obsessed with the heroine I will excuse all of his behavior no matter how toxic
