A very satisfying conclusion to the trilogy.

Grace remains a fascinating character, Ewan remains mad and obsessive, and I remain enthralled by the soapy goodness that is Sarah MacLean's writing. I really do still think Ewan is beyond redemption, and he does not grovel enough, but in MacLean-land such things are easily surmounted with luscious writing. However, my least favorite of the series.

A classic Sarah MacLean

Really loved this, devoured in one day, 10/10 extremely satisfying groveling and the grandest of gestures.

What a beautiful ending to one of my fave series. I adored the themes of redemption, sacrifice and family and finally finding your way home. I will adore the bare knuckle bastards forever, and reading this series has been one of the bets parts of the year. I am so impressed with the way Sarah wrote Ewan’s redemption arc, and I was overjoyed when the other BBs made an appearance (especially Whit and Hattie!!). I want to reread these books all over again just to experience this world and these characters that mean so much to me, I couldn’t have asked for more. Actual rating: 5/5 ⭐️

Review ⭐️⭐️⭐️ Daring and the Duke by Sarah MacLean

Grace has spent a life time running from her past. Betrayed by her only love she now hides in London's darkest corner. Single-minded and ruthless, Ewan the new Duke of Warwick has spent the better part of a decade looking for his childhood love. She vows to get revenge, and all he wants is making her a duchess.

So technically this series is a standalone. However, I wouldn't recommend starting by this one. It was a beautifully written book but there was a lot of backstory I wished I knew beforehand and probably a lot of character development on Grace’s part, because we didn’t see much of it in this one. Just little glimpse at a past she wants to forget, but build her character a lot. It would have been interesting to get a little more of how Grace became herself: there was a lot of telling, not a lot of showing. I enjoyed the story, the characters and the theatricality of it all. But, I felt like there was always something missing. Some closeness, vulnerability and overall sweetness. I live for the little moments, the hidden ones, the small gestures that makes you truly believe the couple will make it. I really enjoyed the flashbacks in this story, we see them falling in love for the first time, their tiny innocent self in an adult world that wants to crush them, but instead they find family and love and hope.

SARAH AT HER HEARTSTOPPING BEST. SHEER PERFECTION.

Pre-Read Thoughts: I'm very interested to see how the author is going to redeem the villain of the previous books....I'm also really hoping we see more of the Nora/Nik!

#1 Wicked and the Wallflower - ★★★★☆
#2 Brazen and the Beast - ★★★★☆

Post-Read: We only got glimpses of Nora/Nik - really think they deserve their own book!! The redemption arc was just okay. Romance was steamy though.

I finished this weeks ago and never put it on goodreads oops
