So I did buy this book awhile go. Literally wanted 2 just buy a book I seen on Wattpad and support a writer.

I liked reading about the Greek gods, and the mythology around it. I found the book interesting.

Shame it had to end with a cliff hanger, and no second book published apart from on Wattpad.
I did try to read the second book but couldn’t complete it.

Mythology and soul mates? Give me please!
I liked the fact that from the beginning it is explained that soulmates can be consisted in a female pair, a male pair or a mixed-gender pair of soul mates. But even though that possibility is explained, at no time is a pair of soul mate of the same genre mentioned. I would have liked it even more if, instead of explaining it, it showed it.
The contextualization of the Hellenicus world is very well planned and, without a doubt, it is what I liked most of the whole story. The fact that the protagonist is against everything related to finding her soul mate gives the feeling that this is going to be the center of the conflict in the story, but the conflict goes further (and is too predictable).
The author drops clues from the beginning about what is going to be the center of the conflict (which will subsequently put the protagonist in danger, of course) and which also explains some of the unknowns that arise in the story (from why her parents don’t care about her to the dreams or why she got sick the first night of the Gathering), although more than clues they are huge (and predictable) arrows.
And the main characters? Well, any of the characters is well developed. Although they are psychologically defined, they are still quite flat characters; even the female main character, Avery, is not developed even when the narrative is from her point of view (so many arrows and she lets them pass without second thoughts…).
As for the love triangle (because spoiler alert, there is a love triangle), it is also seen coming from afar. The only thing that I liked about the relationship between the three main characters is the final unknown of why this love triangle was formed, which is not resolved; I suppose it will be left for the second book.
The end is very abrupt and leaves several unknowns without solving, which makes you want to read the next book, which until now is only available on Wattpad.
The only thing not at all predictable in all of history has been everything related to the Faction. At least, I was personally surprised.
What I liked most, without a doubt, is the whole contextualization of the Hellenicus world, it is a really original concept. For the rest, it is an entertaining and enjoyable story that is worth it if you like stories with a mythological contextualization.

Do I recommend it? Yes.
Am I going to read the next book? Obvs yes!

I really had to force myself to finish this book. I felt like I was reading it forever, I'm a pretty quick reader but a lot of the time I didn't even want to pick it back up.

There were some good elements, the Greek mythology was interesting and I wish it was more effective in the plot, but the storyline was bland and the characters were awful. I found the concept of Greek descendants finding their soulmates really intriguing, and I'm sure the book would have been great if that had actually happened!

The synopsis suggests a love triangle between the main character Avery and two boys: Adrian and Vlad. Now, this would've been fine, but pretty much every male we were introduced to found Avery irresistible. She had a childhood friend called Bryan, a love interest called Carlos who came completely out of nowhere, Adrian and Vlad, and then some random guy called Damian(?) who popped up. To add to that, I don't even think Avery had any chemistry with any of them - I won't be shipping a pairing any time soon.

Avery's parents were horrendous, the relationship between them and Avery was hugely lacking and their attitude towards her was really bizarre. The way they spoke to her and left the alone wasn't parental at all, never mind the fact they were meant to be
Spoilerguarding her for her whole life and pretending to be her parents! I understand the lack of parental love but come on, at least try.

Avery herself isn't particularly likeable, her attitude was very stubborn and juvenile. She's meant to be 18 but instead of swearing like any normal teen, she said things like "Holy inventor of ketchup", "Shiitake mushroom", "Geez Zeus" and "Fruit salad" to avoid it. I wouldn't mind if it was an occasional thing but it was constant.

Entwined included every YA cliche going and didn't even execute them that well. It felt like the story didn't have a clear direction and wandered from place to place trying to work out what it wanted to be.

The ending was abrupt and left me wondering what had actually happened, the 'big reveal' could be spotted from miles away and the cliffhanger doesn't leave me interested to read the next book.

This books reminded me of those fan fictions we would read in middle school, it wasn’t terrible, but it definitely wasn’t something I’d read again!

This book was really dumb but really fun at the same time. The main character was really annoying and I rolled my eyes at pretty much every single decision she made because I just thought she was so dumb.

The twists and reveals of the novel were quite predictable and the whole love triangle in my opinion was not done well.

This does read like Wattpad fiction so I didn't really go in with high expectations so I am not disappointed with this book.

Overall, this was a fun and quick read but it was pretty meaningless.

*ARC provided by NetGalley in exchange for an honest review!*

This was an okay book! The story was interesting and I couldn’t really predict the ending, but the characters were very shallow and I didn’t connect with any of them.

I was very interested in the story for the mythological aspect. At the beginning, I couldn’t really tell if it was a fantasy or not, because she built this world very nicely.

I wasn’t very interested in the characters because of the narrative. The author just introduces characters so quickly. And besides, everything happened very fast, I feel like I missed something.

Really enjoyed the society she created here, very strictly divided between Regulars (people who don’t which gods they descended from), Royals (descendants from the gods from the Olympus) and Pure Royals (descendants from Zeus, Hades and Poseidon).

This reminded me a little bit of The Selection and Significance, I think because of the whole society thing and the soulmate plot.

I’d recommend this if you’re into greek mythology and young adult fantasies!

When I first came across Entwined I was really drawn to the soulmate premise of this novel. Before I get into more detailed thoughts, I want to start off by saying that OVERALL, I enjoyed this story.

The first thing I noticed was definitely the writing, in particular, the conversations. They fell short and were, for a lack of a better word, cringey. I want to make it clear that I think it's super cool and pretty amazing that Wattpad now publishes its stories, and that this is one of them! I also want to make it clear that I don't think Wattpad stories are any less legitimate than other published stories, but in this case, I found the conversations unnatural.

This story is a fun greek mythology, love triangle, romance novel. However, it comes off a bit predictable and I think it would be much more suited for more of a middle-grade audience than a young adult audience.

That all said, I finished reading Entwined in ONE sitting. As a first novel, I can see there is room for improvement, but also it's a debut novel!

Entwined is SO much fun - but that ending!! Hey A.J. Rosen - you can't just leave it like that. A sequel is needed very soon!!

Thank you to NetGalley and Entangled Publishing for my copy of this book.
