A beautiful, raw story that's told so well! I went in not really knowing what it was about, and I appreciated that because it was an emotional read an an experience to read it without knowing what's next. Putting all of Sabaa Tahir's books on my TBR

This is a beautiful, challenging read about generational trauma, survival and growth. Highly recommend, with a more for trigger warnings.

This book was so incredible. It is the closest thing to young adult literary fiction that I’ve ever read. I loved Salahudin, Noor and Misbah  so much and I found my heart breaking over and over again along with theirs as each hardship passed. This is a story about trauma, but it is also one about love and hope. Every word it was a masterpiece.

This book is exactly as the title suggests. If you can’t or don’t want to handle the very heavy themes, skip this one.
