This would be good for storytime or someone who needed to help a child with fear of the dark. It was George’s imagination that was scaring him. The end of the book shows the true definition of bravery.

George is very brave, but when it comes to the dark in his bedroom at night, he is not brave at all. How will he get over his fear to rescue his bear from across the room?

A boy braves the scary looking things in his room to get his special lovey in the far corner. After being brave, he can see the dark shapes for what they really are. Not sure that it really helped my nervous sleeper in anyway. Doesn’t make being brave look cool enough to be worth it.

I love the concept of being brave to save the things (ones) you love.

Sweet story about how love can lead to feats of bravery. A little more reassuring than a book like [b:The Dark|15790852|The Dark|Lemony Snicket|https://d.gr-assets.com/books/1350766092s/15790852.jpg|21512407].

George is brave - he stands up to bullies, swings the highest, and will eat things that make other kids shudder - but at bedtime, when his mom and dad turn out the light, George is terrified. With Bear stranded in the scariest and darkest place in his room, George must face his fear of the dark to rescue his friend. George in the Dark is a fun, lighthearted read, perfect for before bedtime and inspiring courage against the dark.

Read this book to little ones scared of the dark. It is the lovely story of George, who's very brave during the day with examples that include eating worms and standing up against bullies. Night time, however, is a different story. How will George conquer his fear? Read to find out!
