I enjoyed this book so much! The stakes were heightened, the plot twists were shocking, and we got to know the characters so much better!

I love multiple POV stories, when done right they work so well, and each character in this series is so lovable in their own way with their own unique voice. And as I mentioned before when reading Aurora Rising, I am also a huge fan of books that contain found family elements and Squad 312 definitely gives me that in spades! There’s romance, adventure, humour and a diverse cast of characters too.

I am marking this down half a star for the ending though, it was so sudden, just as things were getting juicy! I am lucky that I have the third book on hand but that might not be the case for others and I can imagine that whopper of a cliffhanger would be very annoying!

Finally, I want to reiterate how good the audiobooks are for this series. They have a full cast who really bring each character to life!

WHAT WAS THAT ENDING?? YOU CANT LEAVE US HANGING LIKE THAT!

“I am not feeling nothing” bruh. I love how we got to see more of Zila and her past. The big reveal of one of our squad members actually shocked me. I was sitting there in disbelief I couldn’t believe. Tyler and a certain Syldrathi...I love it. ALSO THE REVEAL ABOUT THE TWINS?? Holy crap. Aurora going off into the Echo and coming out a whole new person...that was amazing to read. There was so much that happened but the second half of the book had me so enthralled I couldn’t put it down. I’m not okay. Where is book 3.

It took me a while to get my hands on the sequel... and now I need the finale, ASAP!

This book is full of action, twists, and turns, and shocking revelations. Definitely wanting to know how this ends and how Aurora is going to take on the destiny that is being thrust upon her.

Also, we need a pinch more romance. They keep teasing it, and my romance loving heart needs a pinch more. Not just brief mentions of liking each other. Give me some mushy lines and a kiss once and a while, please.

Also, the cover is gorgeous.

This book is not good on it's own, so definitely recommend picking up book 1 or you will be absolutely lost. But all this fantasy and sci-fi is great! Loving it.

Four out of five stars.

3.5 - In some aspects, not as good as I had hoped but in others exceeded my expectations.

Still a very captivating story but not as invested as I was in the first book. Love all the characters still and even some new ones but the story line is losing me a bit. I really hope I like how it wraps up in the final book.
