Looooved this so much more than empire of storms. I did the tandem read and im happy I did that but also I wouldnt have minded it separately because I was always itching to read more from tower of dawn.

Did I read the same book as everyone else!? I found this insufferably boring. DNF. CNF. Wtf

Not my favorite of the series, because so many of the main characters are not in this book, and this  happens to be about 2 of my least-favorite characters. But it does advance the story, introduces  new characters, and the characters who weren’t  my  favorite did grow on me.

2.5 stars. I could have skipped this book. I should have skipped this book. Chaol Westfall you will always be be my enemy. Maybe a little exaggerated, but he did not deserve my attention for nearly 700 pages. After everything said and done, he is still mere inches away from thoughts like:

If Aelin had kept herself in check, if she’d played the part of distressed queen … It would have made his task far easier.
Perhaps Aelin had cost them this war. This one shot at a future.

I enjoyed the power dynamics both between the royal sibling and Borte et al. Unfortunately that took a back seat to all the one on one time between the main characters and their partners in crime.

Time to go rescue my queen from her torment.
