An ending to a marvelous trilogy.

The
"heroine loses her powers at the end"
is one of the plots that I really hate, but I have to admit that it was done beautifully in this case. I don't consider this a happy ending, but it doesn't have to be. The character growth in this book is excellent, and provides the most human villain I've read of. I would be able to enjoy it more and give it a higher score, if Mal was not just another uninteresting love interest.

The grishaverse has so much to offer, and if you're reading this as a new fan, be aware that the next ones are even better!

I have to take note, especially with the beginning and last parts, where an introductory and ending phase speak of a story about a girl and a boy, like "Once upon a time." It was lovely and memorable. I'm quite satisfied throughout the reading progress as the way it emits and affects emotions really makes you stirred up inside. It amassed plenty of plot twists that continually thickened until that kind of hunger was depleted and finally contentment snuck in gradually.

Overall, this was a great series. I felt very attached to the characters, and I am excited to read the other books inside the grishaverse. Normally, I would get bored with talk of war plans but I think Bardugo did a good job at keeping it interesting. I also loved the ending she gave Alina; It was very heartwarming to see. The plot twists were well done and I hadn’t seen many of them coming.

I love how LB wrapped up this series. I wish more of the character/thoughts/beliefs about the characters was implied rather than plainly stated. They were obvious, repetitive, and a little too simple. BUT perhaps I'm being too harsh for a YA book. And I seriously loved how she wrapped it up. This series can kind of be seen as a fantasy version of The Hunger Games meets Harry Potter, but unlike the end of Mockingjay, I loved this one.
