I loved all the characters so much, especially Harshaw and Nikolai. Probably wouldn't reread the series, but it was still enjoyable to get through.

I absolutely loved this book! I think this was by far my favorite of the series which is really impressive. I felt like I was on the edge of my seat the entire book, and every twist and turn pleasantly surprised me. I also loved how I felt like we got moments of humor that felt appropriate given how tense the book was. I kinda want to reread it because I had so much fun reading it.
Also, the "I am ruination" scene had no right being that good. I really fell in love with all characters in this book and really appreciated their development (esp. Genya, Zoya, and David). I did not see the twist with Mal coming at all and I was stressed lol. I also loved the epilogue scene. It was so heartwarming to see Alina and Mal start over, and how they still see their friends. The scenes with Alina and the sun was so sad and beautiful ahhh. Also the Nikolai thing and Baghra and the Aleksander moments are so good. I am not a Darkling Stan but I adored that scene so much. I didn't realize how much I cared for all of these characters until this book. Honestly, perfect ending.

A lovely ending to a lovely series. This is a series that I think improves with each installment, with the first being a little underwhelming (it's mostly the whole school part that bores me), while book 2 and 3 work so well. I liked the emphasis on the idea that you are not meant to carry your burdens alone, that the community you build is there to create a kinder, better world and life with you. Lovely all around. And I also liked how many of the pervious characters (Zoya) really grew on me in this book.

I don't know why the ending to this is considered controversial or why so many people are in an uproar about it. It was such a lovely, soft ending that the characters deserved.

Listen. Don't be like me and take your good old time reading these books. Read them all in a row quickly before the show comes out. I read 1 of these books in 2019, one in 2020, and just finished the last in 2021. I was foolish. I like the first 2 enough, but I had to read the three to understand the full scope of the story. I literally just sobbed for 20 minutes about the ending of this trilogy it was that good. Why can't I give 10 stars?!? I'm going to take a short break for a new release that I was excited about and then I'm jumping back into the GrishaVerse. I can't wait for another adventure in Ravka!
