At the end of the last book, Theo's brother Luka, who has always been kind of a longer, has gone missing. At the start of this book we meet Alice who wakes up in a cell and surrounded by aliens who are using horrible means to solve their planet's fertility problem. While walking past a cell one day she catches the idea of a captive, Luka, and he immediately recognizes her as his mate. As they are forced together they recognize something in each other and after a daring escape, Luka woos his newfound mate.

I'm really really enjoying the worldbuilding in this series, the nuances of what is similar and what is different. In this story Luka has spent a lot of time researching the planet's animals and he shows them off to Alice, you learn about their moons, animals, technology, and timekeeping and all of it while Luka pulls out all the stops to romance Alice.

💜BOOK REVIEW💜

I just finished the second installment of the Clacanian Series “Freeing Luka.” I enjoyed it quite a bit. It’s a very subtle monster smut. There’s some spice but very minimal. The plot was very good though. I can say it was a very platelet cleanser. Even though I love my smut. I will say that Luka is a lot more filthier than his brother Theo which is book one. Which of course I enjoyed. Overall it was a good book. Definitely will continue the series. Highly recommend if you’re looking for monster smut but with like 1-2 🌶️’s.

As with most books that are a part of a series, book two was very disappointing. I found Alice annoying and whiny.

Also, this entire book low key gave me Ice planet barbarian vibes.
