While i enjoyed this one, Aramus is probably one of my least favorite characters in the series. Still a good read though.

Again, Eve Langlais has created characters and a world that draws you in from page one. Aramus hates humans, and when you find out what happened to him, you don't blame him. But when he meets Riley, he feels a need to protect the doctor, although he can't understand why. The story is fast-paced and a wonderful read. Another book with great world building and characters! Highly recommended!!

As you can see - we sort of like these hot cyborg romances here at Bitten by Romance. In book four, Aramus, Eve Langlais delivers once again with an amazing (and at times humorous) story of these special men. For the first time in the series, our female lead is not a cyborg but a human - so it was pretty amazing to see her paired with Aramus. Aramus is a self-proclaimed hater of anything non-Cyborg. While he may not indiscriminately kill any and all humans, he really doesn't care too much if they end up dead.

As a military fighting unit his emotions are buried very deep. I love his tough shell and watching him struggle to even admit that he might just possibly be feeling something - anything - was very fun to watch. He even goes to the doctor to try and "cure" his "malfunction" and gets some very excellent advice that had me chuckling.

Eve also delivers on the action in this one. We get to watch Aramus and his team as they storm the gates of a secret compound and engage in a few good old fashioned brawls (he prefers to use his hands you know). The people behind the original Cyborg project are also making plans and there are a lot of new little twists introduced in this book. It walks it's way right into the story of Seth (book 5) very nicely and it will definitely be on my reading block in the near future - it's already calling to me from the bookshelves.

I listened to the audio book for this one and it was really good! I loved the way it was done and it the narrator did a great job. This was a fun story and I loved the snarky humor. I'll definitely be checking out more within this series as well.

3.5 fun and passion filled stars!

It is the rise of the cyborgs and these gorgeous men/machine are a work of art.

In the future, technology has advanced beyond humanity's wildest dreams. The government experiments on specially selected soldiers turning them into highly skilled, deadly but hard to kill cyborgs. They are the property of the government and have no free will or memory of their previous lives as humans. After their liberation, the cyborgs created their own community far from the human government. The cyborgs don't trust humans and the human's are suspicious and afraid of these 'monstrous creatures' all because the government propaganda told them these cyborgs are alien, bloodthirsty and very dangerous.

Aramus hates all humans and in his opinion, the only good human is a dead one. As he says:
"I am perfectly content. I am the commander of this ship. I get to travel. Explore. Bring back goods for the cyborg colony.” Kill humans who got in his way. What more could a cyborg ask for?

Doctor Riley is a victim of the governments schemes and is nothing like the cruel humans Aramus remembers. She does the unexpected, turns his world and ideas about humans upside down and makes him feel things he has never felt before.

I really enjoyed reading this book but found Aramus's stubborn nature and his refusal to see what is in front of him even when it was a bit too late to protest, very frustrating and extremely annoying. At times he was a bit of an ass-hat hero and I didn't think he deserved Riley for much of the book.
I really wanted to like Aramus but his grumpy, stubborn cyborg attitude and hard-ass persona put me off until near the end when he started to show his softer side.

Riley's instant connection/instant physical attraction to Aramus turned into love way too quickly to be believed. One look at him and Doctor Riley was deep in lust and soon head over heels in love. If he looks anything like the guy on the cover then no wonder the one glimpse of him fried her brain. There wasn't enough of an emotional impact to create such a deep connection between them and as a result, Aramus and Riley just didn't fit so well together. in my opinion.

Still, the story line was enjoyable, the cyborg history was intriguing and I loved the humour, suspense and even the angst. I really liked the fact that Riley was a brave heroine who knew what she wanted and wasn't afraid to get it.

I love Eve Langlais books and I can't wait to discover the stories of several cyborgs introduced to us in this book.

3 1/2 Quick read, with some laughs. Always a bit silly. Liked that Aramus gets his. The bad guys are obvious from the beginning as almost always so didn't get caught up in that. Aramus is strangely attracted to the doctor that he saves from the company that works with the military to experiment on Cyborgs and others. The doctor has been kidnapped and abused but others even more so. Aramus fights his attraction since he thinks of it as defective. The doctor immediately sees Aramus as a protector as his gruff personality does put her off. She has learned that action speak louder than words and so far, he has made her life a lot better.

So my 1 1/2 stars off comes from the expendables. I thought that was so cruel and although done by the company, the cyborgs let it happen.
Spoiler No one seems angry for that reason and I was just mad at both Riley for not calling Aramus on it and Aramus for being a big lug head in the first place.

I think they need to start understanding that the cyborgs are as likely to deceive as the humans.

3.5 stars

I was excited to be back in the world of the cyborgs. We have Aramus, who is yet another cyborg male who dislikes the weakness of human emotions. He really hates humans. The cyborgs are sent to investigate a secret base only to find some truly horrible things. And the humans thing the cyborgs are heartless. There are a group of humans who are being held captive as they help with scientific research. They also find Avion who has been MIA for a while, but he is not what he used to be.

You knew it was going to happen. As I was reading these books, Aramus’s hatred towards humans, I knew he was going to be the first of the cyborgs to hook up with a human. Up until this point, they have found women cyborgs, as rare as they are, but I just knew he was going to be teamed up with a human. It was fun to watch him fight his instincts as much as he liked her. The doctor’s response was even better.

MJ shrugged. “So you find her cute. I don’t see the problem.”
Was MJ truly dense? Aramus spelled it out for him. “The problem is I desire her.”
“Easy solution then; screw her.”
“Screw her? That’s your remedy? Screw her?”
“Well, you said that masterbating didn’t work.”
“It didn’t.”
“So, do what your body wants and get back to normal. Have sex.”
“But I don’t want to have sex with her.” He was such a liar.
“Buy you just said–”
“I know what I fucking said. However, I don’t want to. I hate humans.”
“Not that one.”
“All of them.”

After more arguing:
“No. As your chief medical officer, I command you to obey. Fuck the human.”
Have you ever seen a man that needed so much convincing to have sex with a woman he found attractive?

Anyway, it was another cute story. There is betrayal (not by either of our main players here, but by someone else). We learn more about Seth who went MIA in the previous book. There were the great one-liners I’ve come to expect from an Eve Langlais book. If you’re looking for a cute, fun, laugh out loud read, I highly recommend anything by Eve Langlais. Her books are always great for a laugh.

A Sci-fi Action/Adventure Adult Romance
I love this series! It is one of those series that gets better and better with each book.
Filled with plenty of action and steamy romance.

This was my least favorite of the series so far, I was pretty disappointed with Aramus and how he treated the FMC. He treats her poorly,
Spoilerhas sex with her for the first time, and sleeps in her bed where he then dumps her off onto the floor and tells her it was just sex, and then avoids her thereafter until she lures him back. They end up continuing to have sex while he still plans to abandon her on another station to get rid of her and the other humans. He follows through on his plans, the station gets attacked and only then does he consider going back for her. If not for the the station getting attacked I don't believe he'd have ever tried to find her or get her back.
There was no satisfying grovel. It was so disappointing and only made me dislike him more. I didn't get the same sense of love that the other MMCs developed for their females in the other books (Joe, Solace, Einstein).

I hope Seth's book is better otherwise this may be the end of the series for me.
