I feel no strong feelings towards this book. It was nice to read a book by an Australian actually set in Australia, but the story, narration and characters failed to sweep me up.

Suggested to me because it was like Kristen Ashley books. I would day this falls short, although the storyline us similar to KA's first rock chick book.
I didn't like how the couple was breaking up and getting back together every other mintue. Also the fact that almost every guy in the book had to hit on the heroine. Overall this wasn't me cup of tea.

One of my friends told me about this book, and then the author gifted it to me. I was so excited to read it.

What’s my opinion now that I’m done?

WOW!

LOVED!

Kate McCarthy. I love you. New favorite author for me.

In the acknowledgments at the end, I had trouble believing this was Kate’s first book. I mean, I believe her, but you know what I mean. It was amazing and did not read like a first time author at all. Kind of blew my mind.

I could NOT put this down. I carried it to soccer practice, and dance class, and sat in the car in 95 degree weather so I wouldn't be interrupted by other people I normally talk to at these things.

Right from the start there was so much energy coursing through this book. I don’t know how else to describe that feeling I had from the first page.

When Evie is up, you’re up, when Evie is down, your down. You easily swing into the same moods she is in while you’re reading. She has a quick wit and an awesome come back to everything and so do all of her friends. I kind of have a girl crush on Evie. I think I should make a new shelf, girl crushes. I love it when a book inspires a new shelf.

Jared. *sigh* I need a Jared. I *heart* Jared mucho. He is definitely a strong alpha male, which I love in my romance books. What is a romance book with a wishy washy dude? Give me a strong man who goes after what he wants, doesn’t stop until he has it, and is willing to protect what is his at all costs please. That describes Jared to a T.

I was up, I was down, my heart was huge with hope, it was broken. This book runs the gamut of emotions.

Then there is the stalker element. Excellent! I am not going to give spoilers, I hate spoilers, but that was an excellent angle to add to the story line and I liked how it wrapped up.

I really loved every character in this book, and there were quite a few between Evie’s band and Jared’s security company. I couldn’t come up with a favorite between all of them, though Mac and Henry were just as quick on their feet with witty replies as Evie was and I laughed a few times when those three were together going back and forth.

And the ending –

I had a few tears.

I need the next book like yesterday. :) That one is Give Me Strength and it looks like it is coming out September 16. I cannot wait!!!!

All in all awesome book. Perfect love story. Girl Crushes. Book Boyfriends. I think this hit all of my shelves.

This took me a little time to get connected with the characters, but once I did I couldn't put it down!!! I enjoyed the interaction between all the characters and I loved the story.

Must Read!!
Give Me Love is an amazing read. I've read it at least 3 times now and can't get enough of it. Kate McCarthy is absolutely my favorite Australian author. If you love a book with romantic suspense with hot badass men then this is the book to read.

Unrealistic to have that many hot men in a small group.
I couldn't get a vibe of what kind of band Jamieson actual was.
Good easy read, would suggest it to someone who needed a quick summer beach read.
Not raunchy, not sexy, the fashion described seems an married women in her 50s have tried to describe something sexy a young person would wear but it was all hideous.
Easy romance.

I love books that have a little bit of everything and this book definitely had it all. There was action, suspense, comedy, and romance. This book captured my attention right away and kept it throughout. I read it in one sitting bc I couldn't put it down. I love the 2 main characters, Evie and Jared. Evie is the lead singer for her band Jamieson. She is strong and loves her family/friends fiercely but she's also vulnerable with high walls built around her. Jared, along with his brother and friends, is a co-owner of Jamieson and Valentine Consulting. He is bossy, sweet, and protective but he's also been hurt. The side characters are hilarious and one big family. Kate McCarthy really makes you feel like you know these characters and I love that.
After years of being friends, Evie and Jared finally give in to their undeniable attraction. Now they must contend with Jamieson's rise to fame, insecurities and fear, and a man driven by revenge.
I love this book and have read it many times. You will experience so many different feelings while reading. I laughed (often), cried (a couple times), got frustrated, and was nervous as to what was going to happen next. Kate McCarthy has a way with words and gives you the ability to get lost in her stories for a little while.
