As always, Joe is fucking batshit. I like that there are deviations from the show in the book — it helps keep it interesting. Also interesting is Joe’s reasoning/logic skill. I am fascinated yet terrified by his brain.

i loooved the first book, this one i simply liked. the writing and character voice was on par with the first, but honestly? the show wrote joe’s time in LA about a thousand times better. everything that happened in this book just felt messy. not sure if i’ll read the next one, i’ll see!

Hidden Bodies was sick, both in a good and bad way. Caroline, damn! You created something so believable I got scared. Haha! Character-wise, Joe had a funny and loud mind that I liked a lot. He was savage, and I loved it! He was also so problematic that it made me sad because of his shitty childhood. Joseph Goldberg was a waving red flag that attracted another red flag named Love. The irony! The murders were unforgivable for apparent reasons. I was not too fond of the fact that he thought people's lives were in his hands. (When he decided not to kill certain characters, as if they needed to thank him for not killing them) It was disturbing and disgusting. But overall, the story was compelling and fast-paced. 😎

This was a little less thrilling compared to You, the first novel in the series but still a must read to keep up with Joe & his nutty self. Love is more of a brat and not as compelling as her TV show counterpart. Forty was still odd. Delilah didn’t play a big part in this. I found myself going back to the TV show a lot because I think the producers did a great job with bringing Love and the new people to life alongside Joe. This seemed more of a filler to set up for the other books. I’ll still read books 3 & 4 though.
