Honestly, I think this is the best book of the series. Johnson's writing is on point in this book, and the way that the mystery wraps up is generally satisfying. I know this was originally supposed to just be a trilogy, but there's also a new kind of spin off series, so I'm interested in seeing where that eventually goes.

I think the most satisfying part of this book is the way that both storylines end up coming together. The way Johnson ends up twining them together leads to a satisfying conclusion. Really, my only complaint is the relationship between Stevie and David. It just didn't seem to work for me; I think it could have been mostly left out and the story would have been fine.

All in all, if you're looking for a new mystery series to jump into, I would recommend this one!

First of all, David is an asshole. I tried to understand him. His daddy issues, his friend died and Stevie kinda betrayed him. But what the fuck dude? His freaking mouth need to shut up. Good thing he's doing something to stop his racist father and doesn't like him.

I hate Stevie and David relationship. Its like hot and cold. So freaking annoying.

I don't how many times I said this but I really love Stevie's friend. Janelle,Nate and Vi. Vi and Janelle relationship❤

For the plot twist, I don't why I'm not satisfied. I kinda suspect Charles but Idk the revelation is not that exciting and I don't have "omg" feels? Like I didn't like how it deliver? Like its that's all? But the end scene are cute. I'm living for their friendship❤❤❤

Such a good series. Everything was tied up in a believable bow. I cannot wait to read the companion books.

the ending both surprised me in a good way and a bad way. i’d like to think that if i were a tad bit brighter i would have seen it coming, but at the same time, i’d like to also think johnson was just trying to tie up loose ends. 4.25 regardless because i had fun reading it and that’s what matters.
