The story is great, but the narration was terrible!! The people were given lisps, simpering voices, and the narrator himself swallowed all of the “s” at the end of words! “Races” became “ray”, “staircase” was “staircay”, and on the whole the reading between the dialogue was monotonous. I would have preferred if he had given 1/8th of the effort he gave to making the characters sound like tea kettles or a talking doll that has been sat on to making the story more lively than an indictment.

When you feel like crap, read some Wodehouse. It might be my new philosophy.

Not as funny as some Wodehouse books, but an enjoyable light read.
